Day 1

Arrive Istanbul
On arrival at Istanbul Airport, after clearing immigration and baggage claim, meet your local representative/tour manager and proceed to your hotel. After checking in, the remainder of the day is at leisure and for you to explore Istanbul.

(Note: Transfers to hotel are available all day, mode of transportation could either be a coach/ minivan along with other passengers from the group. If your flight arrives after 18.30 hrs local time, then dinner will not be provided.)

Day 2

Istanbul City Tour
Meet our expert local guide, to visit the "Topkapi Palace": the great palace of the Ottoman sultans from the 15th to the 19th centuries. The palace houses an exquisite collection of crystal, silver, and Chinese porcelain. Robes are worn by the sultans and their families, the famous jewels of the Imperial Treasury, miniatures, and the Holy Mantle; enshrining relics of the Prophet Mohammed. Next we visit the "Sultanahmet Imperial Mosque". Across from St. Sophia built in the 16th century by the architect Mehmet, is the "Blue Mosque" because of its magnificent interior decoration of blue Iznik tiles. Outside the Blue Mosque we find the ancient "Hippodrome": which was the scene of chariot races and entertainment and comprises of three monuments; the Obelisk of Theodosius, the bronze Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine. We then visit the Grand Spice Bazaar for shopping.

Day 3

Istanbul Bosphorus Cruise - Izmir / Kusadasi
This morning, enjoy a magical Istanbul Bosphorus Cruise and Spice Market Tour starting at 08:30. Enjoy the array of sites you can see from the boat including Spice Bazaar (Egyptian Bazaar). The cruise will also travel along the waterway separating Europe and Asia. After lunch proceeds for the flight to Izmir, on arrival transfer to your hotel in Kusadasi.

Day 4

Kusadasi - Ephesus Tour - Turkish Village Sirince
Proceed for a tour of Ephesus, one of the best-preserved ancient sites in the world. En route, visit the Temple of Artemis, Curetes street, famous Roman baths, Celsus Library and Grand Theatre. After lunch, visit a carpet weaving centre: one of the oldest arts of Turkey. We then continue for a Turkish Village Tour. Sirince's construction style today belongs to Anatolian Greeks. The houses on the slope are all Orginal with their white paints. Sirince Village also has a fantastic reputation for making some of the best wines -, especially fruit wines. We will visit the vineyards and learn how fruit wine is made. Later visit one of the famous leather production centres of the region, where you will have the opportunity to purchase locally crafted leather items. Overnight in Kusadasi.

Day 5

Kusadasi - Pamukkale Tour
Visit the calcium terraces of Pamukkale (cotton castle) and the ruins of Hierapolis, then walk around this natural phenomenon and have the option of lying in the waters of the natural springs.

Day 6

Kusadasi - Cappadocia
In the morning proceed to the airport for flight to Cappadocia. On arrival, transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore Cappadocia.

Day 7

Cappadocia Underground City & Goreme Open Air Museum
Today we depart for Ozkonak Underground City, one of the best-preserved Underground cities in Cappadocia. We then Uchisar Castle, the highest point of Cappadocia. Later visit the Goreme Open Air Museum, the Heart of Cappadocia. The museum is famous for frescoes dating to 10th century describing the life of Jesus Christ and monks. Next stop is Cavusin, which is an abandoned village with old cave Greek houses. We then visit a pottery workshop, to see how to make potteries. Proceed onto Pasabagi where you can see three-headed fairy chimneys. Next; visit another workshop to see Cappadocian handwoven carpets and kilims. Continue onto Devrent Valley, which is also called Imagination Valley, where you can see natural rock formations looking like animals. We then visit a wine shop in Urgup for wine tasting. The final visit is to see: Three Beauties, three beautiful fairy chimneys with their hats, which is the symbol of Cappadocia.

Cappadocia - Istanbul Airport
After breakfast, you will have free time in Cappadocia. Later depart for Kayseri Airport for our flight to Istanbul and where the tour ends. Please ensure your return flight is after 1300 hrs.

Turkey is bordered by eight countries: Bulgaria to the northwest; Greece to the west; Georgia to the northeast; Armenia, Iran and the Azerbaijani; Iraq and Syria to the southeast. The Mediterranean Sea is to the south; the Aegean Sea to the west; and the Black Sea to the north. The Sea of Marmara, the Bosphorus and the Dardanelles (which together form the Turkish Straits) demarcate the boundary between Thrace and Anatolia; they also separate Europe and Asia. Turkey’s location at the crossroads of Europe and Asia makes it a country of significant importance.

Electricity.

 

Sockets in Turkey use round two pin plugs, as the main socket types are Europlug and Schuko. The voltage here is between 220 and 240 volts AC.

 

Passports & visas:

 

Entry requirements for American and British Passports holders:

Visas are not required for travel by UK passport holders endorsed British Citizen, Passport must be valid for six months beyond intended travel.

Entry requirements for Indian Passport Holders: Passport valid for at least 6 months upon arrival. Visas are required and are issued upon arrival for tourist stay of max. 30 days.

Health

 

Medical facilities are of a average quality and can be expensive. You are strongly recommended to obtain comprehensive travel and medical insurance before travelling. It should cover local hospitalisation and medical repatriation to your country of residence.

 

Go prepared for the heat. Use a high factor sun block and drink plenty of bottled water to guard against exposure and dehydration, which can result in serious health problems

 

 A doctor's prescription should be carried along with any medication that is brought into the country.

 

Insect and animal bites can be painful, set off allergic reactions, or become infected. Some also spread diseases such as malaria and rabies. Avoid insect and animal bites by using insect repellent on exposed skin.

 

Baggage

 

Baggage allowance on domestic flights will be 15kg, Please ensure you adhere to current aviation regulations. Please remember that passengers’ will have to carry their luggage to and from the coach to the hotel room.

 

Food & drink.

 

Turkish food is among the best in the world and is sometimes ranked alongside French and Chinese as one of the world’s three great cuisines.

 

The breakfast is usually in a separate dining area of the hotel, and is usually an extended continental breakfast, so it will include tea, coffee, breads, cereals, fruit, etc.

Lunches and dinners  often consist of fried vegetables such as eggplant (aubergine) and peppers or potatoes served with yogurt and tomato sauce. Meneman and cilbir are typical summer dishes, based on eggs.

 

Climate

 

 In Istanbul and around the Sea of Marmara the climate is moderate. In winter 4 degrees and summer 27 degrees (39 & 80 Fahrenheit). In Western Turkey there is a mild Mediterranean climate with average temperatures of 9 degrees in winter and 29 degrees in summer. The climate in the Black Sea area is wet, warm and humid.

 

Clothing & Accessorises

 

In spring and autumn you may encounter rain, and the air may be cool or even chilly at night, but comfortable during the day; bring a warm jacket or a sweater and windbreaker. In

In Southeastern Turkey there will be little rain, and warm weather, so pack as for a mild summer.

 

In summer wear cool cotton clothing, a hat, and Sunblock lotion, but have a light sweater for cool evenings. Rain won't be a big problem, although you may encounter it along the Black Sea Coast and in the East. In the Southeast, be prepared for hot weather.

 

Toiletries are good to pack, especially as you do not know in advance what your hotel might have – but bear in mind that all your favourite products will be widely available in Turkeys many malls and supermarkets. Some shaving foam, a razor and some anti-perspirant will be useful but also shower gel and shampoo might be a good thing to bring too.

 

Money

 

The local currency is the Turkish Lira (TRY) Turkish Lira banknotes exist in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100.

ATMs accept foreign debit and credit cards including Switch, Maestro and Cirrus, and can be found throughout the Turkey, in shopping malls, hotels and petrol stations.

 

General travel information.

 

Taxis and mini-buses often over charge tourists. You should agree a charge with the driver before the journey commences and ensure that a seat belt is worn at all times.

 

Sensible precautions should always be taken when in unfamiliar surroundings. Take care of your passport and valuables, use hotel safes and beware of pickpockets and bag snatchers.

 

You should avoid political gatherings and demonstrations, and respect any advice or instruction from the local authorities.
