Its strategic location was one of the prime reasons why successive dynasties chose it as their seat of power. New Delhi also reflects the legacy the British left behind.

On arrival, meet, assist & check in to your hotel. Overnight stay at Delhi.

Enjoy a rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk, the busiest market in Old Delhi…..noisy, chaotic and uniquely Indian. You will then visit the Red Fort, it continues to be significant till date, as every Independence Day, the Prime Minister makes a speech from its ramparts as the Indian flag is hoisted. Later, drive past India Gate, President House and several other government buildings in Edwin Lutyen’s Delhi before you head towards Rajghat, the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. Thereafter, visit Humayun’s Tomb, Later, visit the Qutab Minar, which is the tallest brick minaret in the world.

Day 3

DELHI- AGRA (Approx 210 kms / 4.5 hrs)

Post breakfast, check out and drive to Agra - the city lies in the Western part of Uttar Pradesh on the bank of River Yamuna. Though the wonderful allure of the Taj Mahal attracts people from around the world over to Agra, it is not a standalone attraction. The city offers a trail of fascinating tombs and mausoleums to explore.

Arrive and check in to your hotel. Afternoon, proceed for half day city tour of Agra - visit the Red Fort, which was commissioned in 1565 by Akbar. Visit one of the 7 wonders of the world - the Taj Mahal, a mausoleum built as a symbol of Emperor Shah Jahan’s devotion to his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal. Considered an architectural marvel, its construction took thousands of workers over 21 years to complete.

B, L, D

Day 4

AGRA - RANTHAMBHORE (Approx 310 Kms | 6-7 hrs)

Post breakfast, check out and drive to Ranthambore, en-route visiting Fatehpur Sikri, which was built by Emperor Akbar and is home to many historical buildings. Fatehpur Sikri is a UNESCO World heritage site.

RANTHAMBHORE

Today early morning, proceed for a game drive in the popular Ranthambore National Park - once the private game reserve of the royal family of Jaipur. Ranthambore's diverse topography with a mix of rolling hills and crags, meadows, lakes and rivulets, offers some of the finest opportunities for sighting the magnificent tiger in the wild. Apart from the tiger, other wildlife in the park includes sloth bear, leopard, jackal, fox, hyena, Indian wolf, chital, sambar deer, blue bull antelope or nilgai, rhesus macaque, langur and an incredible variety of birds. The 10th century Ranthambore fort dominates the landscape of this dry-deciduous forest.

RANTHAMBHORE - JAIPUR (Approx 180 Kms | 4 hrs)

Post breakfast, check out and drive to Jaipur - the gateway to the magnificent and vibrant state of Rajasthan. Today, the city is known for its bazaars, forts, temples, palaces, and wildlife sanctuaries.

B, L, D

Day 7

JAIPUR (SIGHTSEEING)

After breakfast, proceed for full day city tour of Jaipur. Visit the Amber Fort. The best way to explore the fort is to ride atop an Elephant. Prominent structures inside the fort are the Diwan-i-aam, adorned with latticed galleries, the Ganesh Pol, with a beautiful painted image of Lord Ganesh and the stunning Sheesh Mahal, a hall decorated with thousands of tiny mirrors. Drive past the beautiful Hawa Mahal, also known as the “Palace of the Winds.” This stunning façade with its ornately carved latticework windows was designed, to let the ladies at the palace look out onto the streets without being observed. Later, visit the City Palace, a synthesis of Rajasthani and Mughal styles. The museums here showcase rare and ancient manuscripts, arms dating back to the 15th century, and costumes of erstwhile royalty. Currency

In India the currency you will require will be INR. Star Tours' advices passengers to exchange any spending money for their holiday before they actually travel. Whilst on tour it is very inconvenient to change money and most places we will be visiting will not have ATM machines or accept credit/debit cards.

Distances

An important point to note whilst on a touring holiday is that some long journeys are unavoidable especially when travelling from city to city.

It is advisable passengers carry necessities that they may need for the day such as water, dry snacks, cameras etc. with them in their hand luggage.

For this tour it should be noted that the travel times are extensive on this tour.

Food

Breakfast will be provided at the hotels. The breakfast is usually in a separate dining area of the hotel, and is usually a Indian breakfast.

Passengers can choose from different diets, including vegetarian, Jain or non-vegetarian (Jain or Halal will not always be available) meals. Passengers should advice their tour representative of their preferred diet on the day one. The meals are pre-set buffet and a choice of menu is not available. Meals will be provided with Tap Water only.

Lunches and Dinners are usually provided within the hotel or restaurant in a separate dining facility. You should always consult your tour representative if you are not sure of what ingredients a dish contains.

Hotels

Not all hotels in this tour will have air-conditioning so you should carry a small portable fan with you especially during the summer months.

Please also note that not all hotels provide a kettle so if hot water is required for warming milk etc in the hotel then it is advisable to carry a bottle warmer / kettle as well as a thermos flask. Passengers may also want to carry a small travel iron and hair dryer etc, as many hotel rooms may not have these facilities.

If you use services such as the phone or mini bar, or pay TV whilst in your room, you will have to pay the hotel directly when you check out; these services are not included in your tour cost.

The maximum occupancy per room on this tour is 3 person(s).

Other Advisories

High Altitude

You should only make trips to high altitudes if you feel healthy. The following recommendations apply:

Advanced age is no barrier to high altitude. For blood pressure patients who are well controlled with medication, the altitude is not a concern. Asthmatics can travel to high altitudes without any problems. High-altitude air is less polluted with particles that can cause an asthma attack. Epileptics who are well controlled with medication should be able to negotiate the altitude.

Pregnant women: There may be a certain risk for pregnancy even without pre-existing diseases over 2500-3000 metres. Caution is therefore advised if in doubt, please consult your doctor in advance.

Infants: Short-term stays at the mountain tops are unproblematic. Infants and young children are often unable to equalise pressure during descent and are therefore increasingly at risk of ear irritation. Regular swallowing (drinking, sucking on a bottle) during the descent can prevent the occurrence of irritation.

Because children can chill faster than adults, always pay attention to sufficient protection from the cold at high altitude. Sunglasses and a good sunscreen are necessary on the glaciers!

High altitude visits not recommended for:

Lung and heart patients who are already short of breath while at rest or when climbing stairs are advised not to stay at high altitude. Patients with angina pectoris or severely impaired performance with heart enlargement and heart failure should not visit high altitude. Coronary artery disease (angina pectoris) and heart enlargement with medical therapy should not visit high altitude. Patients with a pronounced risk profile for cardiovascular disease (smoker + high blood pressure + diabetes + high blood fats + overweight + occasional chest pain) should consult the doctor before visiting high altitude.

Do not stay at high altitude after having striated muscles or a stroke.

Pick up and Drop off points & Times

Passengers should arrive at their pick-up point no later than 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Your pick-up point, address and time will be stated on your invoice.

• Pick up point will be Jaipur airport - Terminal 2 at 10:00am.

Visa Details

Non-Indian passport holders planning to travel to India must obtain a valid visa prior to arrival, as India does not offer visa-free entry for most nationalities. Tourists can apply for an e-Visa online, which is available for short visits up to 60 days for purposes such as tourism, business, or medical treatment. Ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months from the date of entry into India and has at least two blank pages for immigration stamps.

Upon arrival, travelers are advised to carry a copy of their visa approval, hotel reservations, and return flight details. Additionally, it's important to be aware of India's customs regulations, including restrictions on the import of certain items such as currency, tobacco, and alcohol. It's recommended to check the latest health and safety guidelines, including vaccinations and COVID-19 protocols, before travel.

Weather

Passengers can be well prepared by ensuring they are carrying appropriate clothing, footwear, and accessories suitable for India's varied climates. It is important to note that during the summer months, some regions can experience extreme heat, while in the winter, certain areas, especially in the north, can be quite cold. Monsoon season also brings heavy rainfall in many parts of the country, so waterproof clothing and footwear may be necessary.

Passengers should also be aware that, depending on the region and time of year, sightseeing in some parts of India may be affected by shorter daylight hours, particularly during the winter months. We recommend consulting with Star Tours at the time of booking if you are unsure about what to expect during your visit or need further guidance on the best time to travel.

Wheelchairs

We will accept light weight manual wheelchairs for travel, subject to them being capable of being stowed in the luggage hold of the coach.  It is also essential that a family member is also on the tour to push their wheelchair. Star Tour’s will also request hotels for suitably equipped rooms; however, this is only on a request basis and cannot be guaranteed. It should be noted Ben Nevis is not fully accessible for a wheelchair user. Some part of Edinburgh will have cobbled streets, which may not be suitable for wheelchairs.
